Description: Applicant requests approval of an exit door swing. april 14 2006. david b. beaver wdm architects 105 north washington wichita ks 67202. re: 500 east 3rd street encroachment permit approval encroachment permit number cpoe 200610020. dear mr. beaver:. please be advised that your application for encroachment permit on behalf of cold storage lofts is hereby approved subject to the following terms and conditions:. 1. that permission is hereby given to cold storage lofts as owner and permittee to maintain an exit door swing in the public right-of-way as shown on drawings known as "exhibit a.". 2. that all materials design and methods of construction shall be in accordance with all applicable codes and shall be subject to the approval of the director of city planning & development when final plans are submitted for a building permit. 3. that to hold the city harmless from claims for bodily injury and for property damage arising out of the construction the permittee shall keep in force a policy of liability insurance in an amount not less than that required by the kansas city building & rehabilitation code (kcbrc) chapter 18 code of ordinances. in the event the insurance requirements of the kcbrc are modified during the life of the construction the insurance provided by the permittee shall be revised to conform with the modified kcbrc standard. 4. that the permission given shall be construed as a permit and not a grant and may be revoked by the city at its discretion; upon revocation the permittee or the owner of the property at the time of the revocation shall cause the removal of the construction and the restoration of the area without expense to the city. 5. that in consideration of the usefulness to cold storage lofts and reflecting a fair assessment of the value of the right of way the sum of $9.00 shall be paid by cold storage lofts in the nature of a license payment to the city for the privilege of using the public right of way for this purpose. this single payment includes all license payments. this encroachment permit approval is as authorized by section 3201 of the kcbrc. if you wish to pay this license fee by check please make the check payable to "city treasurer" and mail the check along with a copy of this letter to:. edgar jordan division manager of property and relocation city planning & development department 16th floor city hall 414 east 12th street kansas city mo 64106. please feel free to contact me if you have any further questions. sincerely. richard h. usher division manager of permits.
